This Guide will take you through the best ways to share files, this includes OneDrive, Sharepoint and email attachments.
SharePoint Links
If your file is stored on SharePoint, find your document you would like to share. Hover your mouse over it and click on the arrow that should appear next to the document name.
Make sure to set your document to view only if you do not want people to edit or change anything on your file. You can do this by clicking “Anyone with the link can edit” or the pencil icon and change this to "Can View".
Alternatively, you can send this directly to the users email rather than sharing a link. You can do this by going to share and entering the users emails you wish to share it with. Again, make sure this is set to Can View if you do not wish others to have edit access.
OneDrive Links
Share direct from file
If your document is stored locally, one way to share it would be to upload it to OneDrive. On your document in the top right corner, press the Share button. You may need to sign in with your office account. Give it a name and press Save. Once this has uploaded it will give you a link you can send to the people you wish to share it with, and they will be able to access your document.
Share from OneDrive
If your document is already on OneDrive the sharing process is similar to Sharepoint. Hover your mouse over the file and click on the arrow that should appear next to the document name.
Make sure to set your document to view only if you do not want people to edit or change anything on your file. You can do this by clicking “Anyone with the link can edit” or the pencil icon and change this to "Can View".
From here you can either click copy link and share this link in an email or a direct message, or you can enter the emails of the people you would like to share this with and click Send.
Email Attachments
You can only attach small files to emails, however, to do this, click New Message then Attach File and Browse this Mac. Select your file and when you send your email the file will be sent with it.
