Update macOS on Mac
Use Software Update to install updates and upgrades for macOS and its built-in apps, including Safari.

Before installing new software, it's a good idea to make sure you have saved all your work.
Make sure that your Mac is connected to the Internet. You should be able to access websites or receive emails, for example.

Open it from settings:From the Apple menu in the corner of your screen, choose System Settings. Click General in the sidebar of the open window, then click Software Update on the right.
In earlier macOS versions, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Software Update.

Before installation begins, you are asked to enter your administrator password. It's the password you use to log in to your Mac. Forgot your password?
During installation, your Mac might restart and show a progress bar or blank screen several times. Find out what to do if installation isn't successful.
